Effective Supervision and Mentorship in Psychological Assessment

3-Hour Continuing Education Workshop for Psychologists

May 15, 2026 11:00 AM-2:00 PM EST

This training will occur virtually through Zoom
A recording will also be available for purchase

What makes someone a good supervisor or mentor of psychological assessment? Being a good assessment psychologist is a great first step, but developing assessment skills in others requires a different type of clinical acumen. This 3-hour continuing education workshop introduces a practical, developmental model for supervision and consultation in psychological assessment that helps make expert cognition explicit, scaffold growth intentionally, and foster professional identity over time.

Participants will explore the core aims of consultation and supervision in assessment settings and learn how to translate those aims into observable, teachable processes. Through didactics, structured reflection, and applied examples, attendees will learn how to model clinical reasoning, structure deliberate practice, expand cognitive flexibility, and create mentoring relationships that grow the next generation of assessment psychologists. Participants will leave with concrete techniques and practical scaffolds they can immediately integrate into supervision, peer consultation, and mentoring relationships.
